Twin Cities Youth Chorale (TCYC) is a vibrant, nonprofit auditioned choral organization for singers 3rd grade and older with unchanged voices. Singers hail from communities across the Minneapolis/St. Paul metropolitan area. TCYC is comprised of two choirs.
The Chamber Singers:
The newly named group is under the direction of Ann Wingert-Williams. Membership in this choir may begin as early as 5th grade. The curriculum presented in this group is geared toward experienced singers (both boys and girls). It is a season-long experience beginning in September and concludes the first week of May.
The TNT Choir, is directed by Ann Bordonaro. This “explosive” choral experience offers singers opportunities to sing music of a variety of styles and genres. This choir is open to students currently in 3rd grade and beyond. To accommodate busy young artists, this choral experience is broken into two semesters: September-December, and January through the first week of May. Boys and girls may sign up for either or both semesters.
Both choirs meet on Tuesday, 4:30-6:00 during weeks in which school is in session.
Entry into either choir requires a meet and greet/voice check with the artistic directors. Sign up for voice checks will be taking place very soon! Stay tuned.
We hope you consider making TCYC part of your child’s 2018-19 academic year!
Founded in 2008, TCYC provides outstanding musical opportunities for young singers through workshops, collaborations, festivals, access to traditional and non-traditional concert locations, challenging repertoire, and solid music education principles. Members love our family-friendly schedule and the choral excellence promoted by our highly skilled artistic directors who are all licensed music educators with many years of experience sharing their knowledge of and passion for the choral art with children.
